Massive steroids bust in Spain.
Spanish police have busted two gangs that allegedly imported and trafficked doping substances used in sports, arresting 84 people, the Interior Ministry said Sunday.
More than 700,000 doses of anabolic steroids, the blood-booster EPO and growth hormones were seized during raids in Madrid, Catalonia, Valencia, Andalusia and the Basque region, the ministry said in a statement.
Among those arrested was a pharmacist who dodged legal controls to distribute the drugs without the use of medical prescriptions.
During the first quarter of 2013 the gangs introduced into Spain some 750 kilograms (1654 pounds) of drugs from China, Greece and Portugal, and marketed them in sports centers and homes, the statement said.
One of the gangs was earning 11,000 euros ($14,434) a day through the illegal sale of these drugs, the statement said.
It was not immediately clear when the arrests were made.

A Japanese rugby player is set to miss the World Cup after there was steroids found in a cream he was using in an attempt to grow a cool moustache.
Yes, you read that last sentence correctly; Ryohei Yamanaka is facing a six-month ban after testing positive for steroids, which he subsequently discovered were contained in a cream he was using to add a bit of maturity to his pre-pubescent appearance.
With his facial hair obviously more Gary Neville than Tom Selleck, Yamanaka was perhaps getting in some early preparation for Movember, a charity campaign that is traditionally supported by rugby players neglecting to use their razor for a four-week period.
Unfortunately for the player, however, it could be next year before he is back in action, as a six month ban is expected to be imposed for his hilariously misguided makeover attempt.
Shocked Japanese coach John Kirwan attempted to defend his player, but doesn’t expect rugby’s governing bodies to be so lenient.
“I spoke to him at the time,” said Kirwan.
“I don’t think he was aware of the severity of it. We spent 24 hours trying to find out what he had taken.
“It was a little tube of hair-growth cream. He just didn’t think. Apparently he has failed the (B sample) too. From what I gather he’s innocent but (the IRB) take a dim view.”
An embarrassed Yamanaka apologised for his actions on Twitter, saying he was “sorry for causing such problems” and added that the product in question was “not a hair growth tonic which helps grow hair on the head”.

Three British nationals arrested in Spain for steroids.
National Police officers have been arrested in Malaga and Marbella, three British nationals for their involvement in a plot of storage, sale and distribution of anabolic steroids, counterfeit and toxic drugs.
Performed in house searches have been seized over 2,000 pills and 100 different bottles of doping products and restricted supply. In addition, those arrested were in possession of a submachine gun, two pistols and a rifle have also been seized.
The investigation was initiated following an investigation opened against a gang engaged in drug trafficking, illicit vehicle trafficking and money laundering in Marbella.
Subsequently, it was found that within this organization, a group of people distributed anabolic bodybuilding gyms and practicing amateur level.
Finally, the researchers were able to identify the perpetrators of these acts, as well as find their 'modus operandi'. Three individuals British residents were arrested in Malaga by these events and we proceeded to the entry and search of their homes.
Inside seized a submachine gun, a Glock brand handgun, a semiautomatic pistol, a rifle and plenty of ammunition for weapons and a viewer reviewed laser gun. In addition, involved 1755 euros in cash, a passport and a fake driving license, 24 bags of cocaine and 300 grams of hashish, as well as lots of different anabolic steroids and other substances restricted supply.
The operation was conducted jointly by the Central UDEV UDYCO and the Costa del Sol police headquarters in eastern Andalusia.

The operation, which have been seized 3000 tablets of anabolic substances, began when officers from the Provincial Judicial Police in late 2010 found a website offering anabolic substances to increase muscle mass and athletic performance.
Due to the danger of consumption without the perceptive medical checks and illegal distribution of these substances without proper medical prescription, an investigation was launched to arrest the perpetrators and the withdrawal from circulation of these products. After months of inquiries and investigations, finally able to identify and locate suspects, two men of Spanish nationality and 24 years old, who was arrested Tuesday when they had just provided a new line of products. Three people have been arrested in connection with the sale of “bodybuilding” stimulants at a local gym. National Police Agents arrested the three Spanish defendants, aged 24, 29 and 39 years, at a gym in Elche, after it was reported that they were selling anabolic steroids, which had been purchased via the internet, to fellow members.
During a raid on the establishment concerned, Police confiscated 24 boxes and 39 packets of the illegal drugs in a sports holdall, belonging to one of the accused, who was arrested immediately.
The arrest led to the detention of his two accomplices later that day, one of which was his brother and the other a member of the gym who had been responsible for purchasing the drugs.
A further raid on the culprits properties led to the recovery of 815 pills and 74 packets of steroids, alongside of 1.171 euros, tools used to manipulate the substances and the names and telephone numbers of supposed “regular” customers.

The operation was launched last March, the Catalonia regional police said Monday.
The Civil Guard, which took part in the investigation, said that the network had smuggled into Spain more than two tons of doping substances over the past 14 months.
In the raids conducted in several Spanish and Portuguese towns, law enforcement agents seized 15,000 doses of steroids – some of them packaged and labeled in Russian and Arabic – the use of which is prohibited without proper medical monitoring since the substances can have serious consequences including liver tumors, fluid retention and high blood pressure.
Among the medications seized were some that had been counterfeited.
In the raids on 39 homes, nutrition complement businesses, gymnasiums and warehouses in Barcelona, the southern Spanish cities of Cadiz and Malaga and several Portuguese towns, authorities also found packaging and instructions brochures prepared to be included with the steroids when they were sold on the black market.
The operation is still under way, since authorities are reviewing the seized documentation, and they are not ruling out more arrests, police said.

The operation began last March when parallel investigations crossed paths of the Autonomous Police and the Guardia Urbana and has resulted in eleven detainees, five in Cadiz, five in Catalonia (in Martorell , Penedes, Badalona, Begues and Castelldefels) and one in Malaga.
In searches performed in several Spanish and Portuguese towns, officials have found 15,000 doses of anabolic steroids, some packaged and labelled in Russian and Arabic, "whose use is prohibited without proper medical supervision, since it can cause serious consequences for health, such as liver tumours, fluid retention and hypertension. Among the drugs seized some have been found to be fake, its actual composition does not match what's listed on their labels, with further enhances the risks of people consuming them.

Gang distributing anabolic drugs, operating in several towns near Barcelona, arrested and 176,000 euros seized.
Those arrested were members of a tightly knit group, which according to officials, engaged in drug trafficking and all kinds of steroids and sexual performance enhancers in the municipalities of Cerdanyola del Vallès, Penedes, Santa Perpetua de la Mogoda and Caldes de Montbui.
As part of this operation, police raided up to eight homes and commercial premises, and found nearly three kilos of cocaine, half a kilo of marijuana, and other quantities of hashish and 353 Viagra tablets.
In addition to the 176,000 euros confiscated were $2300, 1,700 Dominican pesos, seven high-end vehicles, four large motorcycles and a mock gun.
The police found that detainees balanced their "criminal work" with their normal day to day jobs-they found cocaine in the locker of one of them and found that he had relatives who were responsible for deliveries or who kept significant amounts of money in their homes.
Six of those arrested in the operation were sent to prison and the rest were released on bail.

Spanish UG busted for producing fake ED meds, Botox, Xanax etc
Calpe was the location of a raid by police which uncovered over 150,000 fake Viagra pills, the biggest haul of dodgy Viagra tablets ever found in Spain. The police arrested five people in connection with “producing pharmaceuticals without any sanitary control”.
It is understood that the drugs were distributed via a courier company, after their customers purchased the “little blue pills’ via the internet. The “company” also distributed BZP (benzylpiperazine) powder, Xanax (anxiolytic) and Kamagra, whose effects are similar to those of Viagra, among other products.
Those detained were also producing a version of Botox, a potentially dangerous drug, as it works by poisoning the patient, so any variation in the substance could have serious consequences.
