South African boxing was left dazed and confused on Sunday when it was learnt that Jared Lovett, one of the rising stars of the sport, had tested positive for the use of steroids.
Golden Gloves, Lovett's promoters, said on sunday night that they had been told on Friday by the South African Institute for Drug Free Sport that the 21-year-old Lovett had returned a sample that showed he had used the steroid Stanozolol.
