The famous juice prescribing Doctor Ramon Scruggs pleads guilty.

"Scruggs is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 14. He was indicted in April 2008 on 11 charges stemming from his suspected distribution of steroids and human growth hormone to patients who did not have legitimate medical reasons for using the substances.

The New York Times reported in April that the players Troy Glaus and Todd Greene testified before a federal grand jury investigating Scruggs that their agents — Mike Nicotera and Gene Casaleggio — referred them to Scruggs.

Two other players, Scott Schoeneweis and Ismael Valdez, said that Scruggs provided them with steroids.

In an interview with The Times in April, Scruggs said that he provided patients with substances because they pressured him.

“I don’t have any emotional reserve left,” Scruggs said then. “I have been fighting this for 10 years. It has destroyed myself, my life and my family. If I was smart I would be on a beach in Manawatu.”
