Major EU steroid source busted.

Czech police say they have broken up a criminal group that is suspected of selling anabolic steroids in European countries. Police spokeswoman Barbora Kudlackova says eight Czech nationals have been arrested in the Czech Republic and an unspecified number of other suspects are being investigated in neighboring Germany. Kudlackova said in a statement Friday that police believe the group acquired the drugs on the black market in Thailand, smuggled them to Europe and distributed them in the Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, Cyprus and Ukraine. Suspects face up to 12 years in prison if convicted of trafficking. Police said the investigation has not been completed yet and offered no further details. Anabolic steroids are widely misused for doping in sports and bodybuilding.
