Kiddy porn cyber tip-off leads to underground steroid lab bust.

Detectives in Douglas County said they uncovered a large steroid manufacturing operation and are now trying to find who the drugs were sold to. Investigators said they discovered the operation because of a child pornography investigation.

Douglas County Chief Stan Copeland said 29-year old Kyle McCullough and 51-year-old Lawrence Patmon were arrested after investigators uncovered the operation.

"You can see right here, this is trenbolone. It's a livestock growth hormone steroid they use," said Chief Copeland.

Investigators said they first went to the Douglas County home after getting a tip from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation that someone there was downloading child pornography.

When investigators went inside to search the home, they said they were surprised to find a very large steroid operation.

"We do have laptops, our forensic people located child pornography. So, if they kept records of who their customers are, whether at a particular school or gym, then our forensics folks will get it," Copeland said.

Officers said McCullough is facing charges of child pornography as well as manufacturing and distributing steroids. Patmon is also facing steroid charges.

Detectives said the two were using growth hormones for cows to make injectable steroids.

"They take this, break it down and mix it. They mix it with another liquid because it is for cattle," Copeland said.

Detectives said it's a dangerous drug that parents in the county need to be watching out for.

Both Patmon and McCullough were in jail Monday. Detectives said McCullough was on parole for previous steroid charges and could be facing more jail time now.
