"Picayune Police Narcotics investigators have charged a Picayune resident with selling steroids.
According to a press release from the department, investigators charged Darrel J. Pomes, 26, of 900 Cedar Grove Rd., on Tuesday with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute within 1,500 feet of a school or church.
Deputy Chief David Ervin said steroids is just as illegal as any other controlled substance and is worthy of a felony charge. Ervin said the bust showed Pomes had what appeared to be an illegal means to possess the drug and the quantity on hand was enough for distribution.
The release states that once the investigators obtained a search warrant for Pomes’ home they found several vials of what is believed to be steroids along with syringes and other paraphernalia associated with selling the drug."
