Welsh ex-policeman in court for steroid distribution.

"A former police officer was today accused of masterminding a bodybuilding drug racket.

Justin Weaver stood down from his job as a constable with the Metropolitan Police after he was arrested earlier this year.

He was the target of an internal police corruption probe into the alleged sale of steroids via a network in south Wales."

A FORMER police officer is among five Swansea men charged with conspiracy to supply steroids in South Wales.

His co-defendants are 51-year-old John Griffiths, of Neath Road, Andrew Surman, aged 32, of Heol y Gors, Townhill, Leighton Hackles, aged 32, of Meadow Rise, Townhill, and former ambulanceman Alan Dutton, aged 37, of Birchgrove Road, Birchgrove.

Weaver, Griffiths, Surman and Hackles are charged with conspiring together between August 2008 and December 2008 to supply steroid drugs.

Dutton and Weaver are separately charged with conspiring together to supply the Class C drug.

Dutton is charged with being concerned in the fraudulent evasion of a prohibition on the importation of goods ( smuggling ), namely Class C drugs, between July 2007 and February 2009.

It would be nice to have some details of the alleged conspiracy.
