"Federal agents raided a Castro district sports nutrition store and two other locations Thursday, targeting the suspected sale of "nutritional supplements" juiced with BALCO-era steroids."
U.S. Food and Drug Administration agents served search warrants at the Max Muscle store on 16th Street and at the Pacifica home of Maurice Sandoval, who was identified as the owner of a laboratory that markets two heavily advertised supplements called Tren Extreme and Mass Extreme.''
No arrests were made. Agents were seeking evidence of how the drugs were being synthesized and distributed. Investigators believe that some compounds used to create the drugs were being imported illegally from China, the affidavit said."
