Lexington doctor, aide face steroids charges.

A Lexington doctor and his former assistant are charged with obtaining steroids fraudulently, federal officials said Friday.

Dr. Horace Bledsoe Jr., 58, and Amelia Beck, 50, of Newberry were indicted on three counts of stealing steroids for his use, officials said.

The indictment says records were falsified from June 2008 to February, and that the drugs were destroyed.

The pair formerly worked at the Gilbert clinic of Lexington Medical Center, officials said.
