"Federal agents seized a man's prescription medication at the Otay Mesa Port of Entry though he had a valid prescription from a U.S. doctor, the man claims in Federal Court.
David H. Brown says Customs agents seized his "cooler containing 26 5 mg vials of Humatrope ... a synthetic form of human growth hormone," and refuse to return it, despite his valid prescription. Human growth hormone, which is prescribed for endocrine problems, has made news headlines because professional athletes have abused it to improve their performance.
Brown claims that a Customs and Border Protection Agency wrongfully seized his medication and his car. He says that he brought a legal amount of medication into the country for personal use, and Customs had no right to seize it. He wants his medicine back, plus costs and damages."
