New bodybuilding documentary "I Want to Look Like That Guy"

"I Want to Look Like That Guy, the new feature length documentary by Michigan film maker Stuart MacDonald, is a ground breaking movie about what it really takes to look like the guy in fitness ads. The film exposes the false claims in fitness ads and the deceptive advertising practices that rip off billions of dollars a year from consumers. Once you see what the film maker went through to look lean and ripped, you'll never look at an ad the same way and you will re-think what a normal body image should look like. It is quite funny at times and loaded with old black and white educational films that show you just how far fitness has come and how gullible we still are when it comes to supplement ads in muscle magazines and exercise equipment advertising. You could say this movie is just like Morgan Spurlock's Super Size Me but in reverse!"

I'm trying to get my hands on a full copy of the DVD for review.

  1. Dear SoreButtCheeks,

Thank you for putting the link to our movie on your site. I thought I would pass this along to your readers. People have stolen our movie and are downloading it via file sharing online. We are trying very hard to stop this and it's very heartbreaking. After all this work 2 years worth bodybuilders are chatting it up on message boards how smart they are to have found a special sharing site. We have news for those who are doing this. The FBI will be notified next week. Thank goodness bodybuilding.com took off a conversation for us but there are now loads of bodybuilders steeling it and flaunting their find. Somehow they don't think we are aware of this but we have to do something. The film isn't even officially released to boot. We are selling an early release to earn money to get into the festivals where the film can take off. I'm aware that pirating is rampant but when it hits home we have to act. I'm asking everyone to help put a stop to this. If we don't then no one will want to make helpful DVDs about fitness, dieting, motivation or training. I'm told that these individuals are very easy to trace down the way they are posting.

A word to the wise. Authorities are really cracking down on this because, if you follow the money, billions are being stolen. When you have that kind of money being ripped off you can rest assured that the owners of these movies are hell bent on enforcing the law.

Thank you SoreButtCheeks for being patient with us as we are now very timid on sending out screener copies. If this wouldn't have happened we would have been more than happy to have sent you a copy.

    Sincerely,
    Stuart MacDonald
