Australian steroids appeal win.

A PIG-HUNTER who pleaded guilty to having more than 1000 steroid tablets has had his convictions set aside on appeal.

Rocco Carnese was fined $3000 for the two charges in October last year but appealed the convictions that Chief Justice Brian Martin ruled as being "manifestly excessive" and not taking into account the loss of his job over convictions.

The Court of Criminal Appeal ruled in favour of Carnese.

The court ruled that the penalties remain but convictions be set aside.
