I was researching a few of the UGLs that failed bacteria testing over at Body Of Science and noticed that nearly every single one of them claims, on their respective websites, to use only the finest USP and BP raws and solvents. I'm wondering if they are all lying on purpose or are rather naive and have simply been mislead by their suppliers in China.
Personally after years of experience I wouldn't dream of accepting a Chinese supplier's claims that a raw was USP / BP grade, pure or sterile until I've proved it by lab testing. It's also impossible to know if your supplier in China has their own factory ( as many claim to ) unless you've personally taken the factory tour.
When raw powders first became easily available thanks to the net it was nigh on impossible to buy a quantity smaller than 5 kg and most real factories wouldn't sell in less than 50 kg amounts, things have changed but I'd still say it's a safe bet that any supplier willing to sell an amount below a kg is just a one man band based in China buying from local suppliers with no control over or real knowledge of his products' quality .
