"Police launched an investigation of Peter XXXXXX, 38, of 101 XXXXXXXX St., in March after a package containing more than 1,000 pills of anabolic steroids, along with 60 Viagra pills and 300 white pills of an indeterminate substance, were mistakenly delivered to an apartment on Adams Avenue, said Lt. Jon Fontneau, head of the narcotics and organized crime unit.
The Adams Avenue tenant notified police after they opened the package and found the drugs, Fontneau said. Police said Peter tracked the package online and when he went to retrieve it, the Adams Avenue resident told him he had turned it over to police. Peter was seen on video surveillance speaking with the Adams Avenue resident in a hallway and last month, police obtained an arrest warrant for him, Fontneau said."
Guess it wasn't his lucky day. I'm not quite sure how poor Peter worked out where his package was, I presume the tracking system would have shown his address and not the one it went to by mistake, perhaps he recognised the name of the person who signed for it.
In a situation like this it's a tough call on whether to try and recover the pack or not. ( IMHO most honest citizens would not open a pack addressed to someone else. )
