Controlled steroid delivery ends in arrest.

Authorities raided a McDonough home and found a variety of drugs, including one commonly used as a date rape drug. Flint Circuit Drug Task Force agents and Henry County police SWAT team officers swarmed on a home Tuesday about 2 p.m. in the Lake Iris subdivision, said Flint Circuit Drug Task Force Maj. Chad Rosborough. Jonathan Bing Hom, 32, and his wife, Letorsha Tanee Hom, 29, were arrested during the raid at their Revere Drive home. “We received a tip that there was a package possibly containing steroids going to Hom’s home,” said Rosborough. “Agents with the drug task force intercepted the package and confirmed that there were steroids in the package.” Once agents confirmed the steroids, they executed a search warrant for the house. Once inside the residence, police found more steroids, he said. The task force agents and SWAT team also found GHB, gamma hydroxybutyrate, commonly known as the date rape drug, said Rosborough. “GHB is commonly used by bodybuilders to help rebuild their muscles while they are sleeping,” he said. Rosborough said the agents found a water bottle filled with about 16 ounces of GHB, and about 15 vials of steroids, in addition to two vials filled with DECA 200, another type of steroid. “The rest of the 10 vials were human growth hormone,” said Rosborough. Hom and his wife were each charged with possession of schedule III controlled substance and possession of HCG, or human chorionic gonadotropin, steroids. The couple appeared before Henry County Magistrate Court Chief Judge Robert Godwin Wednesday. Godwin set a $5,050 bond for each defendant. Hom and his wife were arrested on drug charges in July 2011, according to court records. Jonathan Hom was charged with manufacturing, delivering, diststributing or possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance in schedule I or schedule II, possession of a schedule III controlled substance and obstruction of an officer, records show. Jonathan Hom was charged after his arrest for allegedly fighting with deputies and ripping a mattress in half, according to jail documents. Those charges include three counts of interference with government property. “When we executed the search warrant, we used the SWAT team, just in case he would become violent during the arrest,” said Rosborough.
