Anti-Aging clinic raided and two tablet presses found during Australian steroid crackdown.

Police officers at the centre of a performance-enhancing drugs storm engulfing the force were among 160 clients, including bikies, suspected of attending a Melbourne sports medicine clinic. The clinic is believed to have links to Bandidos, Comanchero and Hells Angels members and has been operating for two years. Melbourne Sports Medicine and Anti-Aging clinic owner Robin James Taylor, 43, was released by police pending summons on Wednesday. He runs the Moonee Ponds clinic with his wife, Georgina Matta, who was convicted in 2009 of trafficking anabolic steroids. Ms Matta was convicted while operating a body-building supply business operating from a Nunawading factory. Mr Taylor worked with Shane Charter, who was suspected of providing the Essendon Football Club with peptides in 2011. During his time at the Dr Ageless clinic, Mr Taylor met Stephen Dank, the doctor who was also embroiled in the Essendon drugs scandal, and helped him acquire his property in Ascot Vale. Two Victoria Police officers have been suspended with pay after an internal investigation into the use of performance-enhancing drugs, but are being investigated over only schedule-four drug offences, which carry a maximum $1400 fine. The Melbourne homes of a sergeant and two senior constables were raided as part of a blitz targeting synthetic steroids and human growth hormone on 10 properties on Tuesday. No action was taken against one of the senior constables. On Wednesday, police charged two men, who are not police officers, with drug offences. A 46-year-old from Donvale was charged with possessing and using a drug of dependence and bailed by police to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on November 21. A 23-year-old from Highton was charged with possessing unauthorised drugs and bailed by police to face the Geelong Magistrates Court on December 3. Investigators also interviewed a 79-year-old Moonee Ponds man and a 29-year-old Altona Meadows man, who were released pending summons. The investigation is continuing, and it is unlikely the officers would face internal disciplinary charges should they not be charged with a criminal offence. Suspected synthetic steroids, human growth hormone and two pill presses were seized from the clinic, which advertises a range of peptide and testosterone treatments on its website.
